भारत और इंग्लैंड के बीच खेले जा रहे सीरीज के आखिरी टेस्ट मैच में टीम इंडिया काफी मजबूत है। भारत ऋषभ पंत और वाॅशिंगटन सुन्दर की शानदार पारी की बदौलत पहली पारी में 365 रन बनाने में कामयाब रहा। हालांकि वाॅशिंगटन सुन्दर शतक से चूक गए। वह 96 रनों पर नाॅट आउट रहे। इंग्लैंड की पहली पारी के आधार पर भारत को 160 रनों की बढ़त हासिल हुई थी। जवाब में इंग्लैंड की दूसरी पारी की शुरुआत बहुत अच्छी नहीं रही है। इंग्लैंड ने अपने तीन विकेट बहुत जल्दी खो दिए।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौरे पर अपनी बल्लेबाजी से सभी का दिल जीत लेने वाले सुंदर, अहमदाबाद टेस्ट मैच में शतक से चूक जरूर गए। लेकिन उन्होंने अपनी बल्लेबाजी से सभी को प्रभावित किया है। वाॅशिंगटन सुन्दर के शतक ना पूरा करने पर ट्विटर उनके फैंस और कई पूर्व क्रिकेटरों ने अफसोस जताया।
